What is MAT?

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based treatment approach wherein a client receives counseling services in conjunction with medications designed to manage craving and withdrawal symptoms from opioid/alcohol use.

How do i receive mat services?

Patients who are interested in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) will attend an initial assessment with one of our psychiatric providers to create an individualized treatment plan based on their needs.

At that assessment, these different formulations of buprenorphine:

  • buprenorphine films

  • oral pills

  • subcutaneous injection

  • OR naltrexone

will be discussed and a personalized recommendation for treatment will be provided.

Person pouring medication into their hand to take as a part of MAT.

What makes quest’s mat approach different?

At Quest, we offer various formulations of buprenorphine to help manage opioid dependency by reducing withdrawal symptoms and cravings. This regulated treatment supports safer substance use reduction. As a partial opioid agonist, buprenorphine has a lower risk of respiratory depression, overdose, and dependency compared to methadone, making it easier for patients to taper off when ready.

Who Qualifies for mat?

Anyone ages 17 and older with a history of opioid/alcohol use or misuse who would benefit from MAT services.
